In partnership with RENEW Wisconsin and the City of Madison, local resident Michael Vickerman will lead an in-person walking tour showcasing a variety of solar installations in the Shenk-Atwood-Starkweather-Yahara (SASY) neighborhood. In addition to the many residential PV systems in the area, the tour will highlight solar installations serving local nonprofits and businesses, including Olbrich Botanical Gardens (OBS).

Getting to The Tour
We’ll meet in front of the main entrance to OBS. There is ample bicycle parking capacity to the left of the entrance. If arriving by car, there is plenty of parking capacity to the front and side of the building. Bus riders can take the C bus, which runs along Atwood Ave. There is a bus stop directly in front of OBS.
Accessibility Information
The walking tour will be about one mile in length, traveling on hard surfaces the whole way. It is an uphill walk from Olbrich Gardens to the corner of Welch and Oakridge. After that the terrain is mostly level.
